Good Morning Sara. Hi. I turned to this entry not knowing what I would read. This is beautiful in every way including a prize possession of your photo. Family is a blessing and all the memories shared. Be proud of that and your entry too. Truly. Your execution of the tanka is excellent and a wonderful format. Thank you for sharing your skilled talent and family too. Have a wonderful morning. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Bill. Blessings and Peace always. (smile)

Hi Sara, this is a moving tribute to your great- grandmother. I love your vintage family photo from 1945. My late husband, his grandparents, several of his aunts and uncles, his mother, and one of his three sisters are all passed away. I fondly recall visits to his grandmother Robbie's white farmhouse close to where we lived. She was only about 95-100 lbs. but could eat a whole Sara Lee butter pound cake by herself in one sitting. Hugs xx

ahhh, Gina, sorry to hear your husband past....that's soooo hard. My heart goes out to you. Thanks for sharing your story about grandmother Robbie's white farmhouse. What a cherished memory. My grandmother (who was also tiny) also loved Sara Lee Pound Cake...she'd start by saying, "I'll have a tiny bite." Before she knew it, the cake was gone. Ha. Enjoy your day, hugs and blessings, Sara

Me too, grateful, we sometimes might forget to be grateful for the little things, but its always good to express gratitude. For just simply being able to share moments with our loved ones too is just something that we should be grateful for. Your tanka here is so touching and shows your grateful mindset, and i think ones who are grateful receive more, and attract better things, always good to read you! You are truly a beautiful start! Sprinkling poetic dust upon our sight! Thank you
