When the Moon Is Full

Science has disproved the legends about full moons, but one thing is for certain: when I see it thus - gold and glowing in the sky - something indeed does happen. My mind takes flight, and I’m more in tune with nature. I marvel that such beauty occupies heaven. When it takes me by surprise, its effulgence delights me. I’m led to ponder how something so far away seems so right up in my face; how it has appeared through eons, steadfastly at the set time of its cycle. Is it no wonder the poems it has inspired and lovers it has entranced? One of the few things of God’s brilliant creations shared equally by us all! A full moon gives me a different perspective as well, Andrea. It makes me feel one with the universe and "in tune with nature" too. You're such a talented writer, my friend. Congratulations on your win in Russell's contest. Love, Carolyn

Man, you went off on this one! Impressive! I entered this contest as well. Although now, I am kinda second guessing my entry due to the trivial meaning involved (w/ mine) Nice work. Like you always BRING!

Thought provoking poem. Like the moon exists out of time, since it's been viewed by our ancestors, for eons as you said, its beauty seen by all. i hope russell likes this :)

Indeed, the moon sparks our fantasy and is a great source of inspiration for both writers and lovers. Great entry for Russell's contest and I wish you success. Mine was a double choka, but I chose to separate the 5-7-7 verses. Maybe I should rethink that if it confused you. Love, Carolyn

An astral work of art that captures my imagination. The moon outweighs the sun for poetic expression and mystery in my humble opinion. Great poem Andrea!

Hey, there, Andrea, good to read you, finally. Ain't it nice to be back, though? Lovely one, this. Shared equally, I really liked this. There is a unity in watching the moon, isn't there? A feeling of NOT being alone. This should have a winning ribbon. Looking forward to catching up on reading you and all my faves! Cheers and hugs. I can't type long- hurt my wrist. Ice and bandage. Lugging around a toddler ... not for wuzzies!
