Your legacy | Somewhere Over The Rainbow (With images) | Inspirational ...

As obvious as it may seem, Our higher life we must redeem. To get full value, its true worth, It’s not a given at one’s birth. First acknowledged, then understood, Overcome ego, become good. Use your energy to create, Our deeper thoughts our true estate. To share the truth that we have gleamed, Our higher self must be redeemed. Legacy: our thoughts repeated. Shows our life is not completed. Life goes on; it is eternal. The body: only a kernel.

I learned a lot from my family, Joe, but I was also I excellent student. In eighth grade, I skipped up to higher math and was test for my IQ. Scored 158 IQ Test at that time. I didn't read much until 7th grade, my mother always read to me. We found out in 6th grade I was reading at 4th grade level ... no more mother reading to me, and I advanced very quickly in just one year I was reading at 11th grade level. (At least that's what the test scored). I took some college level math courses in high school. It was rare back in the 50's and 60's. Thanks for the comment, my friend. I got to ramblin' again. lol Have a good day! Bill

Great flow and rhymes to your sonnet Bill.. I feel it emphasizes the need to redeem one's higher life or higher self. This suggests a journey of self-discovery and self-improvement, where individuals strive to reach their fullest potential beyond what is merely given at birth...

Whoa dear bill, here i am left speechless, nothing to say but just in awe captivated by the depth of what your philosophical quill has delivered this time and those rhymes are so profound and unique and flows just seamlessly truly. I especially loved “ Life goes on; it is eternal. The body: only a kernel.“ wow! So true! Soul hitting! In a world that is cruel and cold, and truth varies depending on individual perspectives, want to be a ray of light, sharing a slice of my heart, kindess always.FAV

A beautiful image that illustrates what you have said below. What we are in ourselves and what accompanies one when he leaves the world are more essential and valuable than everything he possesses or what he may be in the eyes of others. When we do good to others, it earns a place in many hearts. The satisfaction we derive then cannot be taken away from us. We have to live for our soul's well being as our body is only a kernel. Very meaningful and fulfilling thoughts, dear Bill

Nicely said, Bill. I’m not religious but I would describe my values as ‘Christian’ so I can wholeheartedly share and endorse your view. Happy birthday to you, hope it’s a great day. Terry

I was raised in the Baptist church, but I would call myself religious, either Terry. I'm don't seem to fit in with organized religions as I age and mature in my beliefs. Thanks for the birthday wishes my friend. Bill

Our legacy lives with what we do for others, What we do for ourselves disappear with us. Nice saintly thoughts.

I just started going to a “grandparenting” class at church. Great video series. Do we pass on our heritage to the 4th generation? The Bible tells us to teach our children and children’s children, to remind them of what God has done in our lives, to spur them on towards godliness. God bless!

magnificently written, dear Hubby! Such wisdom in your words about transcending one's ego and claiming the reality that the body is but a kernel yet the life of the soul lives on. I also deeply connected with the notion of leaving one's legacy...not with possessions or accomplishments but with what we do for others. Wish I could fave this poem, for it speaks to my soul.

Dear Bill, Your poem struck a chord within me. The way you delve into the notion of legacy, not just in material terms, but in the essence of our higher selves, is truly thought-provoking. Your words shows us of the importance of transcending ego, embracing our deeper truths, and leaving behind a legacy of wisdom and kindness. You are inspiring us to contemplate the eternal essence of life. Amen! - Blessings Daniel!

Thank you for acknowledging there's a deeper meaning in life. It sounds trite, but the material things of life are far less important than the intrinsic and/or spiritual things in life. Our ego has the opposite viewpoint of this. the material things are more important. It's the needs in life that portrays the material things we need; all the rest is fluff. I bought into getting all I could honestly and through effort and hard work. Many times, that can lead to misuse or not using our time to accomplish the greater good. Okay, almost preaching here. lol Thanks for the kind words, my friend. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

Indeed. What will be our legacy? Good question and it's the reason the Bible states that our day of death is better than our day of birth. Hopefully we have made a name with God during our lifetime
