What Nunsense

painted in black from head to foot like a mourner why not a veil and snowy white showy wedding gown after all, nunsense knows that we are the bride of Christ while we are at it let’s glue some angel’s wings and halo to our ensemble and heigh ho purchase a white horse of course the nuns are coming fast like gunslingers but prettier and the weapon of choice the two-edged sword no, nunsense knows, it’s sharper the good book open all day what nunsense knows you might suppose is that God really knows it all and might suppose if he really does that we might want to glitter-gold plate our fingers in the endowment of the Great Creator of the paramount groom his word is his promise Christ’s grand promises are always kept and on point is that brothers and sisters in Christ from all lands will wear white and inherit all, beside the lion and lamb fill your lamps with oil don’t spoil your marriage when it’s dark you need your supply of extra oil the nuns they ride as they hear the groom call as they hear him call too many nuns are left behind in mourning gowns…

A wonderfully descriptive poem about the devout nuns. Prophetic piece of things to come. Your imagery was eloquent, Kim. Smiles ~ Blessings, Bill

I think we are all brides of Christ , I have known cloth people to be Christlike and I've known some who were not, its not in the cloth but the wearing of it and what is behind, you write with such ease and flow , I couldn't stop reading, til' the end, thank you for this unique approach to nunnery, and sensory perception, have a blessed day Kim :)

Oh Kim, this is awesome! I also love the reply you made "Nun are perfect!" Preach it sister ;) that is why we needed a Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ is the one who died for our sins, our precious returning Bridegroom, and those who ask Him to be their Savior, are the Bride :) You lifted my heart so much Kim :) See ya here, there or in the air! <3

This is creative and entertaining, Kim. I had one cousin and three second-cousins who were nuns; they always had a smile on their face. ~ Regards // paul

Notwithstanding the attraction of your delightful poem, I still prefer the gravitas of 'severe attire.' ~ Ichabod Crane (P.S. Penguins turn me on too).

Hi Kim; love it. My best friend for awhile was a Sister named Hildegard, a Dominican -- she always wore white. God rest her soul. She was not perfect, but far more perfect than I was. Anything I know of English, she taught me.

Nun (pun intent) are perfect…we were all headed for hell except for the cross of Christ. Even the teeniest sin was imperfect in the perfect eyes of God. Thank you, Joe. I got to know a great-great aunt who was a nun, for a while she was a Mother Superior (they take turns) and she was funny. She became a nun at 14! Thank you for your story/share - always means so much!
