Wabi-Sabi

Wounds continue to bleed, as the sun continues to rise... Fireflies flicker, gasping for hope in their cocoon. You and I, we are different, steering the changing seas of seasons, amidst the delicate crevices of dusk and dawn, we behold the same stars musing in moonlight. So why dismiss the crawling clouds carrying frozen fears? In the pursuit of picturesque horizons, I’ve lost my sense of perception, while serenading dreams into thin air, longing to thaw frost-clawed leaves, oblivious to the labyrinth of poisoned puddles— hindering quills from embracing scentless willows, and fields of eyes follow the route of lies, failing to feel the rooted trauma beneath rainbow skies. .. Yet in the light, I fade; in the dark, I shine. For solitude and I wear twin anklets, as I let strife be the soul of my ink. An empty canvas can home the essence of unruffled tomorrows, like a melody without lyrics, a poet without poetry, soothing midnight sighs- of a butterfly fluttering through thistles and thorns, like my forlorn silhouette still swaying to the wisteria-whispers of yesterday.

What despondent thoughts ooze out from your quill like blood from a festering wound. I feel so touched by this poem and feel as if lost in a labyrinth of thorny plants with needle like thorns pricking into my flesh. Your Poetry not simply leaves a mark but etches an insignia of pain in the heart. "An empty canvas can home the essence of unruffled tomorrows, like a melody without lyrics, a poet without poetry, soothing midnight sighs- of a butterfly fluttering through thistles and thorns" What poignant emotions are conveyed through these lines. Empress, please break open the cocoon of melancholy you have woven around your soul. You are so talented with with a golden heart. You deserve more from life.

"Yet in the light, I fade; in the dark, I shine. For solitude and I wear twin anklets, as I let strife be the soul of my ink." Matchless in poetic beauty and pathos.

You let it all out in this emotion and passion filled poem, Ink. So many lines to like, " Yet in the light, I fade; in the dark, I shine. For solitude and I wear twin anklets, as I let strife be the soul of my ink." is one of the deeper lines I resonate with. We all have to communicate from wherever we are, light or darkness; for both have lessons and beauty if embraced. Great entry for the contest. You shouldn't need luck. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! my dear friend. Hugs, Bill

Such an evocative and soulful write, dear Ink. Your metaphors and imagery were compelling...so many exquisite and powerful lines! If I had to pick one it would be"like a melody without lyrics, a poet without poetry." So many lines resonated with me. Wishing you the best with the contest. Hah i have to admit it took me three days to write this one this time. I kept changing lines. Until i was finally ok to post. Craigs contests are always challenging and i did so much research on wabi sabi and kintsugi. So deep within these lines it somehow defines those concepts, i know you can nail it dear andrea you are an inspiration for me

Your words touch on the delicate line between beauty and pain, creating an array of emotions that resonate deeply with me and many other poets.. The contrast between the sun continuing to rise and wounds bleeding, the fireflies gasping for hope, and the pursuit of picturesque horizons losing perception all contribute to the rich depths of your free verse.. Metaphors like the crawling clouds carrying frozen fears and the labyrinth of poisoned puddles, adds layers of meaning. Your expression of fading in the light and shining in the dark, wearing solitude like twin anklets, is particularly powerful. I think this will be a top winner.

Oh my,dear Ink, this is such a profound and breathtaking poem for the wabi-sabi contest.I sincerely felt those hues of self-introspection and insight, which you've conveyed with a beautiful philosophical richness here.Very true, why should we hide those shades of brokenness when our hearts oscillate between those tapestries of imperfection amidst the hardships of life.I can sense so much wisdom in this one!"amidst the delicate crevices of dusk and dawn","behold the same stars musing in moonlight"

"In the pursuit of picturesque horizons, I’ve lost my sense of perception", " to thaw frost-clawed leaves"- I must admit that without many adjectives and adverbs, you've excelled in creating vivid and effortless imageries that paint a deep storyline which explains the fluttering of a butterfly through thistles and thorns, also, where an empty canvas is but a way of reflecting those abstract tomorrows.. This is just a very heartfelt poem my dear Ink. "Yet in the light, I fade; in the dark, I shine. For solitude and I wear twin anklets, as I let strife be the soul of my ink" This part really made my heart stop.. You really are the brightest shine who well spread the splendor of empathy and kindness even in kindness.. Keep inspiring and writing, my fairy goddess!! A fav
