Notes About The Poem

“The heart wants what it wants — or else it does not care.”

- Emily Dickinson

Valentine's Indigent Heart

I unburied my heart and cried.
Poor little thing Poor little fool
indigent in there, no answer.
no one came back for me
Everyone blue light mesmerized
faces minor February moons
Mid-air, last fare, au contrair—
Cushion collectors, made in China
Obsolete foetus, Pushkin pushers
Amulet of a Talisman, not fair
Eloquency uttered, sputtered, natural lying
Platinum kissogram
O sweet sad parting, old mar
anguishing languishing farewell my friend
Wheelbarrow of borrowed clouds
check the sundial for Saturn’s moon
terrestrial ball wedding leaves
Clocks and gowns, frowning clowns

undo death —
for the love of you
unto death if not

Indescribably profound, Daniel... and I hadn't even realized it was POTD as well. Excelsior! Hearts and Flowers, Gershon

"no one came back for me Everyone blue light mesmerized faces minor February moons" We live in an insensitive world where no one extends a hand to the needy who cries out. Dear Daniel, each day your poems gain greater depth and poignancy. Belated Congratulations on your well deserved POTD

Belated Congrats for this POTD, Dear Daniel ! ...twisting & turning in this one shines the Valentine grit. I’m happy to report that no Heart has a psychology. It will transmute all the mind projects onto & into it > non existent indigences, amulets, Pushkin pushers, Chinese cushion collectors with a whole bang lot more into the green bin. And definitely it knows an obsolete foetus is merely a gem articulation in Dear Poet’s recesses wanting release as part of St. Valentine’s scraping. Blessings to your keyboard, lovely person.

I've felt the sting of that Dickinson quote a time or two. I spent some time looking at your picture of choice before reading your distinctive lines. Daniel, the balance was perfectly exposed and written with the emotional depth so evident in your poetry. Congratulations on your poem having been chosen as one laudable of being POTD.

Tennyson’s (Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all) seems almost tame compared to the vividly dark sentiment expressed in your most deserving POTD, gotta love those cheap cushions from China finely juxtaposed with wheelbarrows of borrowed clouds, congratulations Daniel, Valentine’s Day will never be the same again lol! Daniel. An exclusive business opportunity indeed, sell, sell, sell! Valentine's day, I never associated it with Pushkin, ha. "The Queen Of Spades" short story with a bone-chilling ending! Wounded during a dual, all because of this wife cheating on him. Till death did they part. °•°•°•°•Back with Congratulations on Poem of the day! °•°•°•°•We let go, flow with the tide. Enjoy your day!
