Today I Weep

As I lay underneath a giant weeping Willow tree; I strolled down memory lane and my heart went out to a naive girl who had no clue what was in store for her. I wept for the hand she was dealt. I weep because she didn't have no idea that a boogie man was lurking in the dark, waiting to pounce on her and mar her innocent soul. His face was of a man who was supposed to love and protect her. I weep for her many scars. Although she smiled big and bright she was in much pain. I weep for the dreams she’ll never have due to many nightmares. In case you didn't know that girl was me. 11/22/2021 Contest: “W” New Poems Only Sponsor: Constance La France

Seems to me that naive girl turned out to be that beautiful swan. Life throws many curveballs at us...only the strongest can dodge them. Stay strong, Alexis. Congratulations on your win! Hugs Charlie xo

A familiar tale, horrific and yet we must transcend, healing ourself, forgiving the transgressor, by choosing to suffuse our heart in God’s healing light. Congrats on your win

Our current news in Honolulu concerns a couple who adopted foster children then locked them in dog cages and starved them to death. I wonder how many people stand at Saint Peter's Gate and say, "Don't classify me as human! I was never one of them!"

I feel for the girl of whom you write. I can feel the pain and fear plus the lifetime of hurt she experienced. So many children, young middle age children and teens and young adults are hurt by someone that should love them. Reads like a good contender for the contest. Thanks for your visit to my page. Sara

As far as I am concerned rape is as bad as murder and deserve a life sentence. ~~

A very heartfelt and deeply moving piece my friend. There are many young girls and boys too who have been so scarred, kids who believe in people who have no right to be near anyone or anything who cannot defend themselves. A fine write my fried. God Bless, JB
