Today I Weep
As I lay underneath a giant
weeping Willow tree; I strolled
down memory lane and my heart
went out to a naive girl who had
no clue what was in store for her.
I wept for the hand she was dealt.
I weep because she didn't have no
idea that a boogie man was lurking
in the dark, waiting to pounce on her
and mar her innocent soul. His face
was of a man who was supposed
to love and protect her. I weep for
her many scars. Although she smiled
big and bright she was in much pain.
I weep for the dreams she’ll never
have due to many nightmares. In
case you didn't know that girl was me.
