To Know Sadness
Listen to poem:
To feel pain that will never leave my heart
As it came to me without want or need
This loss I carry has torn me apart
And cut a raw wound in my heart to bleed
There is no relief that comes with despair
Only quiet loneliness as I grieve
To be stripped of my soul and find I'm bare
And accept all the torment I receive
In deepest corners where emotions hide
And light never touches their darkest walls
I collapse from the pain I hold inside
My soul cries in defeat as silence falls
On the edge of forever my tears call
They come to overwhelm as I withdraw
