The Pearl

I sold all I have to possess a Pearl It's beauty beyond imagination colorfully textured with a dark grey swirl You may think it's an exaggeration How could a Pearl cast a spell over me? it's beauty beyond imagination I have journeyed across the seven Seas My great desire to hold in my hands How could a Pearl cast a spell over me With its beauty I can fullfill my plans The woman of my dreams will be in reach my great desire to hold in my hands I find the right spot on a wind swept beach All I possess placed in a Merchant's purse The Woman of my dreams will be in reach When it comes to beauty it has its curse All I posses placed in a Merchant's purse I sold all I have to possess a Pearl Colorfully textured with a dark grey swirl The Pearl Contest Written March 16, 2013

How exquisitely beautiful! Yes, I'm referring to the poem! How did I miss this one? Great write, Richard...the only part I find a problem with? "The woman of my dreams will be within my reach"...Why? If she is impressed more with the pearl than with the giver...she's got issues! ;)

you are becoming quite the terzanelle writer. Way to go making the pearl theme in terzanelle style, with shades of The Pearl novel within. Who wrote that story called The Pearl? I never read it but I know its plot and it's a bit like your poem.
