The Heart Now Split Wide Open

young lovers carve a tree, a love professed for eternity, where hearts entwine, momentary bliss, then fade within the hands of time...
in the silva a weathered oak still stands the heart agape upon its trunk once carved by youthful hands bleeds within the eventide in beads of crimson hue

So beautiful in it's sadness, seems to be a theme with a lot of your writes, fortunately I love melancholy writing!

Love this Sandy. Makes one question why love fades sadly unlike the contract in bark

Never thought how the ink bleeds into the trunk over time, leading to an even more profound love of a bygone time! Wonderful!

I have always be infatuated with the thought of initials inside of a heart carved into a tree trunk, to me that is young love and romance. I have penned a few with this vision in mind though none as lovely as what you have presented today. Your work is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, I always look forward to you posting something new. Beautifully done. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you for such a wonderful compliment Chris. I love seeing initials or hearts in trees that you can tell have aged in time. It makes you wonder if their love survived as well! Hugs :)
