The Full Moon's Reflection

The Full Moon's Beam lit up the Earth.
Revealing wars, turmoil, and hurt.
He wanted peace to be restored.
For what he saw He did abhor.
It pained Him so to see all this.
He closed His eyes and then Eclipsed.

What takes place around us is so disgusting ! It is better to close our eyes as the moon did ! You have said more than this little poem can speak out, dear Michael

He gave us so much plus the logic to look after our planet and yet greed has taken over and and billionaires are being exposed by the score. The one that shocked me who is a billionaire is the Patriarch of the Russian orthodox church who is buddy buddy with Putin. No wonder HE closes his eyes . Excellent write Michael. Hugs and blessings - Jennifer.

The man in the moon must get really upset seeing the earth in such a mess, yet still he shines his light, perhaps he’s hoping to put the world to right. A superb write Michael… Belle

Powerful personification poem, Michael. I feel much as the moon does. The last line summed it up perfectly. It is hard to look upon what is happening to this planet of ours. Have a blessed week my friend. Bill

Thank you Andrea. I am so sorry for your loss. Your poetry clearly showed how much you loved your brother Dale. Now we all can share in this affection toward him. He will not be forgotten. I will write more but sometimes it is difficult because of my intolerance to the radiation emmited from computers and wi fi. Thank you for your visit Dear God bless you...

Wow! Great work! Intriguing the history of the earth lighting up with manmade light. To see the earth light up over time where cities burn bright and of course to see the pandemic shut down those cities that “never closed.” One day the earth will be new and violence will be nonexistent. I look forward to that day. God bless!

Sounds like what I were do if I were the Moon. Love the way you personified 'Him,' Michael. Kudos, Gershon

Thank you Gershon. I tried to convey in the Title dual meanings. The reflection was the Moon's opinion, and the reflection was the Moon beam also. Thank you Gershon for your encouraging words.

A great poem, with perfect closure at the end! Amazing! Do you think the moon sees, all the beauty, too? The newborn babies. The cops out there risking their lives to keep us safe? What about the Border Patrol saving lives in the Rio Grande? Does he see poets like you who touch people! I think he sees it all. Pangie xx

Dear Michael, your very moving personification is filled with poignant truth. I just loved your last line.. so deeply heartfelt. The poor Moon, I feel his heartbreak. There is more and more pain and sadness and less and less joy and love in this world. The human race is destroying itself and every other living and natural thing on this once pristine planet. Your stirring poem though mournful is beautiful. Warmest wishes, my friend.. ~Susan

Susan such an indepth comment I do appreciate from you today. Your observation of the world is one that is completely true and real, and I certainly agree with. This was no pun intended, a reflection of the world as you perfectly described. Again Susan thank you for your valued comment. Be blessed...

Dear Michael, thank you so much for taking time to read my poetry this morning. Every word was penned from your heart and I felt it. Your personification of the moon is very intuitively right, He the moon is amazing lights on or off, power of celestial trinkets that God made for us, for He loved us so much he gave us light, through stars and moon, Take care, and be well, soup mail
