The Fox and the Hound
Scattered the scent relents covered up tracks
from the dust of angelic trust filtered down
in beads of pure essence illuminating a night
stuffed away from the prey of a vicious hound
Hidden away from a righteous rule intent
to silence the willing few to comfort the fox
over barren a broken box in spirit in spite
of howls undiscovered in circles gone round
Darkened in the den of attack fighting back
claws capture release of another battled beast
gentle strokes of a reddish fur exiting purrs
into the precious hand dealt the chosen few
