The Fire Inside
Before he found the fire inside,
he'd felt so small, and life had seemed
a thing to simply take in stride!
To know its thrill he'd never dreamed!
He trod an ordinary path
before he found the fire inside,
with no extremes of glee or wrath.
He'd rarely laughed; he'd rarely cried.
There's one in whom he can confide.
She's brought a hope he never knew
before he found the fire inside.
His eyes are open. All is new!
love's lifting him; he now can try
the things he missed - life's sweet joy ride!
He soars on wings that could not fly
before he found the fire inside.
