The human life cycle

I left the past, in all its fullness, thinking, surely life isn’t complete. Next came the present, a flower in full bloom; it is so sweet. The past, a mere seed: it must have been. For the present was surely growing within. Then came a vision of the present extending into the future, Life’s parts drawn together like a surgical suture. My thoughts were evolving, trying by explaining, Life can be more by expanding and remaining. Just as the present comes from the thoughts of the past, Our future is born from our dreams so vast. It’s our present thoughts, our dreams’ full array, That brings the dawning of each new day. Our futures are fleeting, they too will not last; They become the seeds for our next past. The cycle continues, round and round, Can the start or the end ever be found?

Life is moving in cyclic motion. We cannot find when it started and where it ends. Past, present and future are a continuum. Your philosophical broodings, make us think and think deeper about life. Bill, you are a master of excellent rhyming. Enjoyed this deep and profound contemplation on life.

I havent read many poems on life cycle but you’ve as always gone for something that not many would write on, a brilliant take this is, i love your rhymes, you really are an excellent rhymester, and i love the opening lines how you started it and described past and present in such a creative manner is truly impeccable! The ending with the question definitely gets readers to ponder too. Pleasure reading this as always. An excellent poem

Bill, your poem is simply excellent! Your impressive ideas and patterns captivate me, and your poem made me ponder them thoroughly. I appreciate the remark about the future being our next past, as well as the start-to-finish contrast. Bill, your poetry is beautifully written and features breathtaking imagery.

Love the challenge of keeping up with your thoughts on this insightful write, Bill. It's certainly helpful to read it a few times, but then it seems to change again. So clever a method to go with the theme!

wow, Bill, your poem has such depth! I'm in awe of your words and your insights. Reminds me of the phrase, "Life is a Circular Thing." Many times I see that circular, revolving motion in my (our) lives. I liked 'the future being our next past.' How profound and thought provoking. thanks for sharing your depth and insights, hugs, eastside writing bear
