Ooh, I love your "taut syllables" here, Sam! Not only are the tanka constraints described, but also the messages they are able to portray. "Thankful tones - gratitude" is one of your many lovely poetic hallmarks. And awesome alliterations also (see what I did there?) Congrats, my friend, a standing O from the cheap seats.

Hope this lock out doesn't lock out spring training - so ready for b-ball! A multitude of blessings! FYI - have been playing and loving your hymns! Magnificent music.

Hi Connie! Thank you so much! Crafting the alliteration added to the fun, and the challenge, of describing one poetic form using a different poetic form! I'm so glad you liked it. I am pleased with the results and honored with its placement among so many outstanding entries. Sending you many blessings and many hugs my friend!

Hi Jennifer! I have to admit I really struggled with this one - finding a poetic way to explain the tanka. I kept trying to write a tanka instead of a pleiades! I have to admit I did like the outcome of this challenge - fun! Sending you many hugs and blessings dear friend!

Valsa, thank you for your note and positive wishes! Am keeping my fingers crossed. It was fun to learn about the history of this form then put all that info into a poetic form. Hope you are well. Blessings to you!

What a relief to see artistic hues of the form portrayed rather than a mechanical definition. Great entry for the contest, Sam! Good luck!

Thank you so much Seeker! I kept thinking how do I create a poem out of a dry definition, set in a different format! Tanka seems, to me, like it would be an easy write but it really has its own inherent challenges one being how to create poetry in short brush strokes. Thank you so much for affirming my efforts. Your note put a big :D on my face. Hope you are well. Blessings of joy and gladness to you.
