Summer Love

The hot days of Summer have come and gone Its longest days have become a dark night The season spent to now look back upon Find love was a shadowy wing in flight A kiss was met beneath the blistered sun Passion filled sunsets claimed its evening light A star streaking across the sky is done A fiery flash now vanquished was bright In the Summer of heat, a love was found And hands of lovers held caressed a rose That opened and bloomed then fell to the ground Where crumbled petals now lay in repose The long days of Summer came to an end As Autumn has come, its cold will descend 5/7/18 contest Summer Love

Oh Frederic, you elegantly express the coldness felt when love is lost after experiencing the steamy heat of love. Beautiful! Congratulations on your wonderful win. Warmest wishes, my friend. ~Susan
