Suicide Off Trax Bridge

Inadvertently, from the shore below a reporter caught the sight in mid-air. Chance photograph made the morning paper - On September 13, 2001. Along with it, the day’s headline story: Suicide off Trax Bridge I was there, too close; the only witness. She was crying, but when I asked, “What’s up?” she just raised her thumb, saying, “It’s okay!” Then she dived hands first, head up, body bent, into the warm water below the rails. Suicide off Trax Bridge I reached for my cell phone, dialed 9-1-1. No ID, (I kicked her purse off the edge). Police may find it later and perhaps question the small blip in the air in that photograph. But then again, maybe it's just a bird.
