Stars Like Bits of Crystal
Stars like bits of crystal twinkling with mystic glee
Striking up a kinship with ol’ blood moon rising,
That you exist the astronomers have no guarantee,
But sparkling like a diamond I find it not surprising
You certainly are alive and well, as far as I can see!
When blackness hovers like dead of August night
The stars, like bits of cosmic quartz, shine brightly,
And I, earthling, know nothing about their plight
Over vast eons of time, I think, and more rightly,
Until, as scientists say, they disappear from sight.
