On zephyr breeze flowers gently swing Bright golden daffodils bring great bling As pale pastel coloured bluebells ring Tiny lambs gambol with zest and zing Lush green grass, their soft plaything I hear a pair of blackbirds sweetly sing These mating birds will do their thing They’ll line their nest before mating Collecting feathers and bits of string To give a soft bed whilst mum’s nesting A small blue speckled egg is soon hatching The parents catch flies, chick feeds like a king! I witness the first flight of the little fledgling Oh how I love the season of stunning spring! Monorhyme Poetry Contest (Nature Theme) Sponsored by Shadow Hamilton 5/25/18

Beautiful poetry Jan but to me, spring has failed. The fickle weather has done so much harm. Butterfly counts dramatically down, in fact, the majority of Arthropodic life has/is suffered/ing. Most flora is out of sync too, but hey what there is, is beautiful and portrayed in poetry more so. hugs Mick

I agree with you Mick and its a worry when animals are born too early in the season and then the weather changes. In the last couple of years I've seen a distinct reduction in birds, bees, butterflies and wasps (not that I'm complaining about there being less of them ) hugs jan xx

very nicely done, Jan. Please don't tell me we had to choose a theme she gave us. I did not see a part of the contest rules for that.
