Slowly

clouds burst, dark skies flashed
loud thunder threatening rolled.... 
pet shakes filled with fear
house shakes, floor weaved, terror gripped
slowly fizzled summer's storm

Powerful! I love your poem! This is exactly what our reality has been in this El Nino season. Our poor pets. I was in a downpour today, it was powerful, almost scary yet exhilarating, like your well written poem. My mind turned to the javelina, coyotes and myriads of other creatures who dwell around our region. I couldn't help but pity the wildlife, I imagine they must be terrified in such storms.

Quite recently in Texas, a great cyclone rocked the city. Storms and typhoons have become quite common. Thunder is deafening causing fear in pets and men. A great Tanka.

Valsa, I have been seeing on the news how Texas is having flooding in some areas like they did last year which has got to be so hard on them. Some are losing everything and a few deaths so far. I see that pets are being rescued as well. I don't know if those pets will ever be reunited with their now owners and how badly they will be affected by these events. Sara K.
