Love was your pretext for lust,
and once again, I was fooled.
And while betraying my trust,
love's smoldering embers cooled.
Flattery blinded my eyes,
obscuring your true intent.
And imaginative lies
quickly quelled my discontent.
Unconcerned about my fate,
you hijacked my hopes and dreams.
And offering love as bait;
took my feelings to extremes.
Love's a true-life fairytale
written for both old and young.
Yet, it's a deceitful tale;
when spun by a silver tongue.
