She Is In Control of Herself Now

The world is grand she thought. The sun has never felt this pretty. She has a wholesomeness that makes me glad. She danced a bit. Celebrating her talents, her skills, herself. Glad she remembers the life she once had. Regaining bits of it one sliver at a time. She smiled and threw her arms out. The flowers laughed. She had gotten away, untangled the clutches of feelings that held her. Bound to someone who only wanted to squelch her light. She could now laugh and sing and dance without an angry face glaring. The only one who controlled her now was herself!

When we allow someone to take control of ourselves, we feel miserable ! Once freed of that tangle, we enjoy the freedom of a bird, soaring into the skies ! A very meaningful write, Caren !

Thank you Valsa. I have known women who have tried to escape, yet keep going back, being way too optimistic, wanting to believe their abusers.

Thank you Bill - this is in honor of the abused women I know who made their escape and LIVED.

Never allow yourself, I have said, to be bound to someone you don't love and who doesn't love you. Life is too short to be "bound." Life is just long enough to be free!
