Sadness

Invert unhappiness, Sadness enters stealthily In my bitter heart. It plans to stay there. All around are dying leaves. It is the last of the Fall. Soon my heart is entering winter, Icicles forbid warmth, Isolation all round. And I feel the chill and loneliness. Ideal strategy Increase happiness Can I invoke my best memories? Perhaps its dementia that is my downfall.

As the season changes and the fall paves way for winter, it is natural that mind gets cloudy. The sense of loneliness will be heightened ! The best way to drive away gloom is to reminisce the happy memories of the past. You have suggested the solution too.... Well done my friend !

Very sad poem, of feelings of loneliness. Covid, and being locked up at home is doing it to so many.

Victor thoughts of winter may bring on the blues but think of the season that comes after, that will put a spring in your step… Belle

I hope it is not dementia but in my experience folks with dementia are not always sad. This was sad but very well penned. Hoping you find joy in your heart again.

Sometimes there are memories we wish we could keep in the forefront, but they just melt away in the background , like candy in the rain, though a few remain in our hearts forever. Very beautifully shared dear friend,

Winter is filled with it's own beauty. The pristine snow, The birds that stay the winter and come for feed, the snow bunnies that cavort through the snow. There is beauty all around us. Don't give in to the moods. We must decide to be happy. I learned that long ago. I had to decide to be happy despite present circumstances. A fine write here as always. God Bless my friend. JB

God omnipresent, thus He must be in the darkness, in the icy chill too! Look for Him in the cave of your glowing heart :)

Winter has so many days of uninspiring, gloomy weather. It's tough on animals, too. I'm glad it doesn't last year round. Blessings and hugs, Evelyn

Sadness in gloomy weather is a natural phenomenon for us all. Yet, you speak of aging--and that too is quite natural. Stay strong, Victor. Spring will soon arrive.

Victor, you wrote moving poetry that is both deep and significant. I wish that all of your sadness and dementia fade away and that happiness and sagacity take their place.
