Women in my family…
Silence the darkness, the doubt
With smiles, like buds flaring out into petals
Vibrant, dancing in shimmering whispers
Like stars who kiss the night, reflecting
Hope that pours out its grace into the heart
Breaking through suspicion, reassuring
Leading the spirit by its dreams, its passions
Caressing the breathless promises with hands
Meant to stroke, to touch, to embrace
Tender in ways that can’t be written down
Words fade from hearts, from feelings
Into flames of poetry, prose, promises
Uplifting, graceful, tender… like the innocent rose
