Reverie

AKA Lost but for Words Fluctuation between attempts at artistry And cathartic raw poetic expression Never quite knowing Which of the two Are closest to being 'a poem' Introspecting to such an extent You become your own muse In a self criticism fuelled dilemma There is beauty in a soul's expression But you didn't expect it to be yours Then unexpectedly you stroll Through the mind of a poet Who speaks to you A kindred spirit Resonance that can knock you off your feet See a reflection of yourself through another's words The reverie! You are the muse - strolling through the mind of a poet sounds most frightening. LOL Congratulations on your win! :)

The raw poetic expression is all you, weather you attempt artistry or it just happens naturally is dictated by great poets and Bards everywhere and they encompass your work and bring it full circle. Love this. I take pleasure in your reverie.

Well its still an ok poem even if you weren't lost for words... You mean if I write a poem about being unlost for words I have to acknowledge that its a quote from Dilly Dally ? :)

Ahh it's 'lost but for words' Wen - a clever pun that on googling I may have invented (please ignore the fact it's probably the algorithms or such like stuff that means it's an ungooglable expression) thank you :)

You have ushered into existence a very fine poem, one that will no doubt ripple the mind of kindrid spirits including mine. We all bathe in a shared light and see our reflection in our creations, in others and the marvellous mirror of nature. Take care...

You can wear the badge for this one. I was attempting the PS muse contest on your The Poem but I didn't think it was good enough as a spin off from yours so it became stand alone. Thank you for your kind words

Dilly, I think you just described me. I see poems about muses, and listen to complaints about a muse being away, but I am my own muse. No one to blame but me if one doesn't work out. If I had one, she'd probably have left me long ago anyway. I'm a bit rebellious when others tell me what to write, do or say. Your poem is full of great thoughts and phrases. I sometimes see another poet who expresses him/herself as I do or wish I could convey my thoughts in such a wonderful way. Well written.

Dear Dilly, a poet is never lost, with words or not. We keep editing and searching for exactly the right words we seek. Use what you wish, and then rewrite it to make it your own.

Thank you Jenna, thank you for sharing the resonance this had for you. I cobbled together two ideas that were floating around and they kind of worked. I think I might have to do more with the 'lost but for words' expression - it's the ideal expression for a tortured poet. I hope I thought of it but I imagine it's not original. I like it though :)
