Remembering the Glory Days
To lie in all my golden glory,
My former branch left bare;
I remember my crisp and fresh green unfolding
Into delighting you, serving you,
With my shade and perfume.
And through the black green year of blue shadow,
And devotion when you loved my doing as you bid.
Before heartlessly you let go and I spiraled
Drifting, drifting, landing and now
I lie here in all my golden glory,
Longing for those useful days.
