Refuge
“In God’s refuge I am settled and secured around His loving and peaceful security.” By the poet
Refuge in the Lord keeps me safe and sound
Inside His redemption guarding my soul
Herein is forgiveness that does fully abound
Midst sin-confession of guilt-purging goal.
Refuge inside the Almighty gives rest
Against life-challenges of grievous pain
Refreshing my heart for ministry zest
Doing all best along service-terrain.
Refuge offered by the Saviour brings hope
For tomorrow’s uncertain battle plight
Since today He grants wondrous grace to cope
Through prayer and supplication delight.
Refuge with Christ secures spiritual bliss
When attacked with afflicting illness' blow
Pulling me from self-pity’s deep abyss
Toward triumphant and refreshing glow.
Refuge* so inviting is God of love
Midst His tender mercies that meet each need
As He always pours blessings from above
I delight to share by faith's peace indeed.
*Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
