Quiet juxtaposes sound,
a place where mute thoughts abound.
And though silence may be rare,
quiet can be anywhere.
Quiet resides in stillness,
a respite from life's shrillness.
From cell phones to children's toys,
we are bombarded by noise.
Quiet's a sanctuary
when chaos becomes scary.
And it is a peaceful state
that regulates your heart rate.
Quiet is a time of bliss
comparable to a kiss.
It's a feeling of calmness
that's garnered from aloneness.
Quiet's that extended hush
when your mind tells you to shush.
And morphs into a gateway
when you need to get away.

Jueju-Qijue
Jueju poems are always quatrains, or, more specifically, a matched pair of couplets (AABB), with each line consisting of five or seven syllables. The five-syllable form is called wujue, and the seven-syllable form qijue.
