~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I ponder all the vastness of the sky what am I but a speck? what shall happen when I die? death seems so unreal like it’s too many heartbeats away there are too many mountains still to climb so upon life’s craggy rocks I stay the sun shines down upon my face like existence knows my name the wind and sky and now nighttime stars put my mortal ponderings to shame
We keep pondering about the purpose and meaning of life and the mysteries of death and life there after. We realize that we are just specks in the vast universe. This realization of our own littleness makes us humble. Deep ponderings !
Beneath the vastness of the sky, we humans are mere specks, and indeed we are put to shame in our existence. Such deep ponderings this poem has.
This poignant poem has such an appealing beginning, a solemn body, and a ending of promise. How do you come up with such magic?
oh, Hilda, you're too kind. Sometimes the 'magic' comes from my ponderings. Sometimes I think I'm just a conduit...my words seem to come from someplace or someone beyond me...if that makes sense. Thanks for your visit and kind words, hugs, Sara
Hey Sara... Your poignant poem encapsulates the profound reflections of a soul grappling with the vastness of existence and the inevitability of mortality... The question "what am I but a speck?" resonates with existential ponderings, inviting readers to reflect on their own place in the cosmos and the mysteries of life and death. The uncertainty and surrealism of death are poignantly conveyed, with the speaker acknowledging its incomprehensibility and the sense of distance it carries.
What a profound and deep write this is dear sweet sara, i feel the same, i talk about this everyday, especially to my sister, for some reason i fear what is ahead, something i need to work on, i fear losing loved ones, as like youve said “ there are too many mountains still to climb so upon life’s craggy rocks I stay” the evocative nature of your poems are so soulful and touching and it is my pleasure reading.” the sun shines down upon my face like existence knows my name” how descriptive! FAVE
thanks for stopping by AM....I, too, had those 'moral ponderings' as a child...my mother consistently said, "I think you were born an old soul." Like you, I'm still searching..I enjoy the journey. Thanks for sharing...have a great evening, Sara
