The concept of eloquence dates back to the Rhetoric of the ancient Greeks, Calliope (one of the nine daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne) being the Muse of epic poetry and eloquence. Hermes, the Greek God, was a patron of eloquence. (Wikipedia.com)

a poet’s pension is his pen-- the pen that siphons words from the world in solitary luxury he sometimes concedes his kinship with the world-- a world in which he lives alone groping for the perfect words, his own masterful soliloquy the world often misunderstands his soul yet he understands his sensitivity, his ability, his prowess-- his need for unveiling eventually his words become a display of beauty, intention, truths— truths he eloquently pens

I would say there are times when a poet conveys different points of view, but would condemn misunderstandings. A Lovey gem of a poem-blessings.

"the world often misunderstands his soul yet he understands his sensitivity, his ability, his prowess-- his need for unveiling" -- Beautiful! Right or wrong, is of less consequence than dedication and self conviction. The world will decide while the Poet must life!

I love this! The alliterations and how you’ve written about a poets pension, as pen. Thats deep and it made me think too. Especially the lines “ the world often misunderstands his soul“ i think many can resonate with that strongly as so many feel this way. “ his need for unveiling“ exactly why most of us write, a form of relief, to release inner most emotions. And that last stanza is so true, what we display with our words are our truths eloquently delivered. Love the note too: very insightful.
