With a soft, gentle style, she has enhanced my life,
Her words, were a smile, in the trials of my life
We met long ago, when my poems were askew
teaching me form, and the push to pursue
Interlaced with her caring, her laughter, compassion
… extending a hand in friendship that lasted
She has moved to new places and has left only traces
but was a foundation, an icon of Soup, to her friends
I came here a novice, she was here before me
Her name once appeared, on the top of each list
A poet, renowned for the love of free verse
Her comments, sincerely, were never rehearsed
We've shared family secrets, we've shared a good laugh,
We've shared daily updates, and our photos, when asked
Heading east you will find her, in a state far away
But, my heart knows her touch…. she is my friend every day
We are friends, who've grown stronger, the longer I've known her…
Under the same sun, or under the same moon, …we are walking together
