I stand amid deep blue water and in my dream the wind roars within my hand are rose petals each one so special and unique and I let them go in the breeze from my hand they go drifting while I weep, weep for them why did I not hold them tighter those petals in the roaring wind they are so many of my loved ones oh, do take these tears with you take my forever love up to heaven God could I have not kept one just one of those precious rose petals but all I have are sweet memories and now the petals are drifting in the wind __________________________ February 16, 2019 Poetry/Free Verse/Petals in the Wind Copyright Protected, ID 19-1115-737-02 All Rights Reserved. Sad, somewhat lonely pen; feelings well expressed.

Did you ever read 'Flowers in the Attic'? There was a sequel called 'Petals on the Wind' - but your poem so wistful, and you will always have the memories.
