One Long Last Look

The moon shimmied up her pole in the sky
   Winking at me with her crescent eye
The stars danced in time to a silent tune
   As the season ended that started in June

O, one long last look at summer's constellations
   Before they surrender to Fall's deportations
And the heavens assign them to regions distant
   As brisk winds whisk them away in an instant

Marikate Kingston December 6, 2021 at 7:04 PM I remember a poem from years ago, that came to mind when I read your poem, "Two things can tear my heart in two, moonlight on still pools and you" Moonlight is on my list of ten of my favorite things. It is so beautiful, I love its soft light, especially on the water at night. Oh my, that was an unintentional rhyme, funny. Your poems are so motivating. :)

(The 'm' and 'n' in this name are interchangeable; it's a grammatical idiosyncracy in Hebrew, which only applies in certain cases).
