Once Broken

Time has two hands a branch has it leaves the sky needing clouds, and I am lost without you -- the face that brought everything into clear focus, the voice that made music of simple conversation, the smile that lit my heart like Roman Candles on Fourth of July -- the calm that never returned after our stormy parting… indeed, even heaven and hell now seem flipping in an unsettling toss, that never comes to light – up in air, a funnel of perpetual longing the sad reality, seldom do-overs when it comes to arrows of the heart once broken….

You put it so profoundly and yet one can feel the pain.. I really like the use of words in the opening.. to describe the brokenness... And the ending just perfect..

Ah yes! For sure, we have all felt the joy and sting of cupid -- what the heck, we keep trying. Even with the failures, I have enjoyed some splendid hills and valleys:) Thank you my friend.

poignant and true words, Joe. Parting from a relationship is stormy indeed and seldom are there do overs. I can identify with the feelings within you words...hard to let go of them sometimes. Enjoy your evening, Sara

Thank you, Deb; I still watch a lot of old movies. Hooked on those romantic Tearjerkers. Oops! What will they think of me at the Dojo. Blessings.

So true, Joe. The longer we hold onto the pain of errors in our life, the more pain we have to endure and the less happiness we allow to come into our lives. I enjoyed reading your poetry today, my friend. Bill

Ain't that the truth! Learn from them -- and move on. Every new day an opportunity to remake one's self. No miracles in hometown, but there's a huge world out there, and maybe some who still don't have Google Search. Blessings my friend.

These days, the whole world seems to be turned upside down. But that chaos seems trivial when love is lost. Very expressively written, Joe.
