Night spreads its magic cloak of midnight blue across the sky. Serenity slips down. I sing this pantoum lullaby for you as stars, like sequins, sparkle all around. Across the sky, serenity slips down beneath moon’s watchful gaze and steady glow. As stars like sequins sparkle all around, drift into Dreamland with the lyrics’ flow. Beneath moon’s watchful gaze and steady glow, I sing each line and then a second time! Drift into Dreamland with the lyrics’ flow. How restful is sweet rhythm and its rhyme. I sing each line and then a second time at end of day when sky holds poetry. How restful is sweet rhythm and its rhyme. In repetition lies security. At end of day when sky holds poetry, I sing this pantoum lullaby for you. In repetition lies security. Night spreads its magic cloak of midnight blue. written 3/25/16 For Caren Krutsinger's Proud Pantoum Poetry Contest Submitted now for Mark Toney's the '2022 Poetry Marathon Mile 18' Poetry Contest

"How restful is sweet rhythm and its rhyme", so true! How smooth and seamless your pantoum is, dear friend. A challenging form to get just right, but you have done so here. Your nighttime imagery is so tranquil too. I will fall asleep tonight imagining poetry being sung in a soothing voice. Congratulations for your podium win in the marathon ~ John

Andrea, such a dreamy pantoum lullaby. My favorite lines: "How restful is sweet rhythm and its rhyme," "at end of day when sky holds poetry," and "In repetition lies security." Congratulations on your second-place, podium finish on Mile 18 of my 2022 Poetry Marathon Contest. Keep your running shoes on, because Mile 19 has already started.

Andrea, that was a beautiful and smart poem - sheer genius how you also explained the pantoun form along with the lullabiness of the nocturnal theme. Congrats on your win in the contest. ~karam~

Back again with congrats, Andrea. I do love how you managed to glorify the form itself with your creative theme choice. One of these days I'll try and write one of these with a consistent rhyme scheme and see if I can do it!
