Well, so now I know I missed "National Poets Day"! Limericks, by nature short ditties, are so much fun to write and you surely enjoy them as much as I do, Jan. Love this one -- we poets need to dig a little deeper sometimes to write humor. Nice work, Jan! Love, Carolyn

I did not know about this one, Jan, there is also a National Poetry Day. On the 4th October this year. The theme is 'Change'. I shall be reading some of my own poetry at our local library. // Barry.

National Poets Day in which country? Hopefully, Eire, as that is the subject of my limerick for today (although it does not compare with your skilful words!). Aloha! Rico

Most countries have a national poet/poetess; I suppose this could be a remembrance day meant for them. Otherwise it could also be dedicated to ALL poets all over the world...and that includes you and me, Jan:) Hugs // paul

Maya Angelou was our national poet and read some of her work at Barack Obama's inauguration. New Jersey, and possibly other states, have a state poet. One year NJ's was Amera Baracka.
