This is a poem I wrote when I was eleven years old and a young Christian. A year later I surrendered to the call the be a preacher. I preached a few times a year until I graduated from High School, then the Church Lisenced me to be a minister. As a young Christian living in a very strict Christian family, I felt guilty of my sin all the time, because I wasn't acting like Jesus.
I want people to know how much we need to know about the love and grace of God as a young person. To much emphaises on sin can be destructive. Bless all of you that can relate.
Bill
Who am I? Let me see.
A Christian? Yes, I try to be.
But do you do God’s will each day?
Oh yes, I read my Bible and pray.
But do you tell others His love for you?
Do you tell others the things He can do?
Do you tell others of the gift He gives?
Or do you live like your lost neighbor lives?
Do you remember His gift of His son?
Do you live for Jesus, are do you run?
Is your heart afire or is it like coals?
Do you go out and try to win souls?
Or do you say, “Lord, I’m human you know.
Give me some time, Lord; I’m trying to grow”.
Don’t think like this, I’m thinking like a fool!
I’m trying to fight God; I’m having a duel.
Lord, I pray that you spirit will soon win,
For my life is evil and full of sin.
Oh Lord for thy guidance, I daily will pray.
Lord, step by step and day by day.
