My Piggy Bank

Save your money for a rainy day
  Where I grew up, that was the way

As I aged, my days filled with sunshine
  My piggy bank, no longer my shrine

Gershon, congratulations on your POTD! Your "Ogden Nash" sense of humor always brightens my day as I reach for the stars through hardship! Reminds me of the old song "catch a falling star and put it in your pocket - save it for a rainy day!" Your poems are like that - stars to save for a rainy day! Congratulations on your POTD Gershon! Thrift is good, a quality which should be adhered to. However, a full piggy bank may not be enough for an umbrella for that rainy day!
