What was a happy place..
It's been replaced with sadness
Shadows moved in
Looking out the window, the sky frowns gray
Rain pouring down
An ominous sound
Of regret, our love has drowned

What an unexpected place
On its face the dark unknowns
Shroud the memory
Of brighter days when skies were always blue
Hand in hand
I was your man
Only love songs played by the band

We were gas and fire, burning intense desire
The flame now gone, no lover's song
Girl... what went wrong

Tears trickle down my cheeks
Once I was strong, now I'm so weak
Love abandoned me
On this uncharted isle of pain and loneliness
Just left to die
I wonder why
I try to smile, even whistle..
but I just cry

There's no relief
Just heartbroken grief
My only breath a hopeless sigh

In my cold muse, I remember your breath on me
Your touch alone opened my eyes so I could see

Where are you sweet girl
It's midnight without you, I'm so blind
And still I'd search the world
Just whisper in the air..
I'll be there
Can we not be again, oh it never has to end

Sweet girl, just whisper in the air
And we can be again

We can be again
It's midnight without you

~Lyric Man

Note: This is a break up song with a tinge of hope in the end, because that's my personality. Today is my last day on this Mountain Adventure and having to leave this sweet girl (the mountain) put me in the perfect meloncholy to pen this write. I'll be back to the mountains, and I hope all who have lost love will once again find it. May you find solice in this write, enjoy!

PS.. Like all of my writes, they are penned from my phone, and I wanted to get this out before packing up so if you see a typo please let me know!

Very poetic! My Lyrics are written for a singer. I notice your writing is what I would call beautiful poetry. What is the difference between Rhyme poetry and lyrical writing? I'm very new to this.

Melancholy seeps from these lyrics, my friend. When love drowns it is not easy to bring it back to life, but nevertheless, one never gives up hope. Best regards // paul

Midnight on the top of a mountain can be so spiritually uplifting and romantic! So I can identify with the wonderful sentiments expressed in symbolism and personifying the love you feel for this mountain. Another great lyric from your heart! Love and hugs. Pandita

Lyric Man, I'm pleased you found inspiration in the mountains. Note: in write u visited recently: "Wi Wacipi Paha" is Sundance mountain I checked out few days ago. "Temple of The Sioux", but you had the guts to leave the temple (The Who) and share your mountainous muse with us. I like to think of mountains sometimes as The Almighty flexing His muscles, the definition of cirques and aretes like His strong sinewy bands. DRMF

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, this is so true. And if I close my eyes, I am there in the magic of this place, this place you paint with your words. Some sadness lingers, yet I can feel the rain upon my skin. The rain holds many emotions indeed. Yes, I know the sunshine will appear. ~ Brandy
