You were found face down by a garden wall,
It’s still a puzzle what had caused you to fall
I saw you twisting and turning in the hospital bed,
with a maze of messages trapped in your head
The fall resulted in two huge bleeds on your brain,
memories lost, you feared you’re going insane
We trod short sinuous paths to help you to walk,
playing memory games each day when we’d talk
Mum is made of strong stuff, determined and plucky,
she has got memory issues but in truth we’re so lucky
Eleven years have flown by since mum fell in the street,
thankfully her health is good, so my world is complete
