Love Is So Much More

To hold this love so close, with its fire Under the horizon's red thread of dreams Has time now passed taken youthful desire? Was it yesterday love lay in moonbeams? Will our days be content with sun's red skies? To sit and talk softly to each other With hands trembling from age of old eyes Know love is a gift from one another To look beyond the days and nights we've known Dreamers counting footsteps along the way To understand we'll share the time's unknown Until time watches our breath fade away Along feathered edges of red sunsets Two hearts now whisper paradise was met 7/19/18 Your finest sonnet contest

How fortunate are two that can transcend the loss of youthful passion to live together within the deeper realm of long-shared love and forever bask in sun's red skies.. An exquisite sonnet of beautiful and thoughtful emotion, Frederic. Best wishes for a win.. ~Susan
