Lost Love

How silent tomorrow is when love dies And wishes and dreams fly further away When reason sits in pain until it cries Nothing left but memories that will stay When lovers merge in passionate consent And speak with wondrous words they impart Never needing to explain what they meant With agreement always to never part Now is replayed in minds of confusion As passion has died a thrust through the heart Leaves a cold death, a tomb of seclusion When the love that was is now torn apart A lover's flame burns before their farewell Their ashes turn cold, time's wind will expel 5/11/17 contest Lost Love-free verse or rhyme

You're right, Frederic, in that when love is lost tomorrow is quiet. It's also colorless when passion dies from a "thrust through the heart." Congratulations on this one.

If you're truly in love with someone, does love really ever leave completely? It is my belief, that love never leaves. A person may get their pride or vanity bruised but years later, reflecting on that love will feel just as warm:) It only takes a spark! That being said, warm memories do not warm a bed. Nicely penned, Frederic and good luck.
