I will remain steadfast and strong Whilst I’m pounded by the raging sea Maintaining my watch all day and night I take my duty incredibly seriously My lamp shines out so brightly Its protected by special storm panes White foam is flung against them I can withstand the harshest of rains There’s a thunderous roar in the air As buffeting waves crash hard against me Try as they might they won’t knock me down I remain on guard in the unpredictable sea Whether calm sea or terrifying tempest My guiding light will always blink Protecting brave sailors on their journey I will not let their vessel sink Lighthouse contest Sponsored by Eve Roper 07-28-17

This is a perfect entry Jan! I like the way you described the strong points of the lighthouse, it's weather proof glass etc. It is really enhanced by the photo too and your ending, Just right! Best of luck in the contest. This is in personification category though, Jan. ; )

I started mine last week and hit a block so hurried to finish it and grabbed the last space in the contest:-) I need to get my poems written quicker in future and not leave it to the last second. I'm sure you would have written a lovely poem Agnes:-) hugs jan xx

Most lights along the Norwegian coast are turned off - I mean to have heard there is only one that lights today - they are not used today ... technology and data controls our world both at sea and on land :)

I like the first-person approach of this one ... putting yourself in the "shoes" of the lighthouse is a very interesting way to go. Great imagery, too! Best of luck in the contest. Regards, John.
