I love reading limericks. BTW, it's the oldest continuous form of English poetry! Happy to see you navigated the treacherous waters of the word Nantucket without a foul rhyme to compliment it. That takes brains and a sense of discreetness. Have a great day. / Maurice

Thanks for the visit and comment, Murice. I enjoy limericks from time to time but prefer a good sonnet. Have a great week! Bill

Sometimes our plans just don't work out like we see them working out. We work hard and there seems to be no reward. In the end are good works will be rewarded, it is our effort in life and gratitude for life itself that will bring victory in the end. Thanks for all the visits and comments, my world would be much less without your presence in it. Thanks for being my friend. Hugs, Bill

So came a free-for-all in Nantucket - Freeloaders greedily grabbed a bucket - They sure got a surprise - Lobsters being alive - Crawled up legs and bit where one daren't touch it……… Belle

Bill, I laughed out loud while reading your limerick. You make writing a limerick appear a lot simpler than it is, which is impressive because I have a hard time finishing one.

Thanks, my friend, I have trouble writing them without the double meanings of words and crudeness that are normally present in them. I'll get better if I don't decide to just not write them. :-) Blessings, Bill

If I was writing that poem, I would have chosen "chuck it" instead of truck it, in the last line. And once again you make a limerick look easier to write than the experience I am having of actually getting one done.

I'm trying, but not that good at it yet. :-) Thanks for the comment and the alternative ending, Miranda. Have a great week! Bill
