Just a little scribble that came to mind...

Time is preventing me from writing..

Is the ship still in its bottle.. Have your lips become dry, tired from yearning. Do you still wear my sage shirt. Are you still crying, are all those tears for me.. Are you still reading the silent one? Did you write me one last poem or is your poetic garden full of decay? Do you ever hear my voice echo in the silence. Turn around when you feel my presence? Do you call my name, forgetting I'm no longer there.. Have you lost hope, wondering where I am, if I'm watching from up above? Are you still hiding, tired from smiling, still pretending. Has life lost substance? Those shattered pieces of glass do they still reflect regret, is your heart heavier than a cliché resembling fragments of stone, do you look back at the footsteps in the sand? Do you listen to our songs, the ones we forgot to sing, where I was the chorus to the rhythm of your heartbeats. Am I still your journal? Does sunset still have meaning, do you sit there cursing the Gemini moon, does June still have a purpose? In episodes of rage are you angry that I could not fulfil my promise, do you hate me for being gone blame me for destroying our dreams, am I the reason you feel trapped? Did you cry upon my grave, place a carnation upon the soil which has buried me or do you never visit? .... Do you still love me?

SO, the subject is an interesting one. We wonder what our lovers will think after we depart. It may be something worth talking about while we're still here and the list you have of questions could be a good starting point for a discussion. I suspect a lot of people can't cross the barrier to be able to deal with this subject. Life insurance doesn't cut it.

You pack a lot of intensity and emotion into your poetry, my friend. The vulnerability you exhibit through your deep desire to be reassured of the Love that was, still is. For a little scribble, you have rocked our worlds. The unanswered questions are always the most damaging thoughts we regurgitate when we are insecure. Thanks for sharing your poetry with us, Silent One. I've missed reading your poetry while I've been sick. Great to be back now. Have a pleasant weekend! Bill

Highly emotive write, SO. A tender dialogue reflecting on love and passion of days bygone, yet resonating like it is happening now--Do you ever hear my voice echo in the silence. Turn around when you feel my presence? Do you call my name, forgetting I'm no longer there...

Dear Silent One, In this poignant piece, the dramatic poet in you asks a series of thought-provoking questions from the afterlife, urging his beloved to reflect on their connection. The soul bond they shared will never fade, but does she still yearn for his presence? Can she hear his voice echoing in the silence or find herself calling out his name? Has she lost hope, or does the shattered glass reflect regret? These questions implore her to ponder their love and the depth of their connection. A brilliant write and a fave...Hugs

Great ending to this poem which in reality explains why so many poets seem to disappear. Poetry Soup requires collaboration, but I read most poems without a reply. Only a handful do.

Dear silent one, this poem left me in tears so heart wrenching really and depth of what Youv expressed here in the most eloquent manner truly made me emotional. “ is your heart heavier than a cliche” what a line, sometimes i wonder, will we still write when we are gone and resting in the grave? You really know how to write poems like these very well and leave us frail hearts in tears, i especially loved the ending and the sincere voice of this. I think true love can never die, even death cannot kill the love within, as its stronger than anything else.

This hits the strongest for me “ Do you listen to our songs, the ones we forgot to sing, where I was the chorus to the rhythm of your heartbeats. Am I still your journal?” gosh! It made me so sad and the way you express for those that would connect to this is beyond soulful! I love this! Pleasure reading such an evocative poem that doesnt feel like “ just a poem” but more than just words! A fave it is for me

This poem tugs at my heartstrings! Several questions are hurled into thin air. If the person concerned happens to read this, it will pierce her heart like arrows. Love never dies even when one lies under the sod. The soul will have an invisible and invincible connection with the loved one. We are so vulnerable, especially in matters of love. "Are you still reading the silent one? Did you write me one last poem or is your poetic garden full of decay?" Here I feel the intimate personal touch.

Many questions, many questions, these questions are answered by the power of love that will wash over in moments of pain every day, when reminders of what was come to visit without notice...an emotional poem revealing a wounded heart that aches with each breath if yes is the answer to your questions

Dear Silent One, I really enjoyed reading your poem about longing and unanswered questions. It draws the reader into an intensely emotional journey. I love your raw honesty and vulnerability that touch the soul, evoking a sense of empathy and introspection. SO, your poem artistically reflects love, loss, and the haunting presence of absence. I also like how you invite contemplation of life's complexities and the enduring power of love. It is truly a moving piece. - Blessings, Daniel

Heartbreaking read SO. If the dead could speak is this what they would say? Who knows. One thing is for sure, we don't stop loving them

Even your little scribbles written with little time to spare have heart shattering messages.... An exquisitely written plea to be remembered. "Is the ship still in its bottle..." The whole grieving process, filled with the unknown and the unfulfilled, and the unresolved questions. No one wants to be forgotten. Fav this one. (((Warm Hugs)))
