Let It Go

had a memory today... of an old high school acquaintance... happened to see him years later... to me...he was dead... but...so was i... to see him that way...though... it was obvious he struggled to stay alive... he'd even thrown his own kin under the bus... hate doesn't occupy me... this is retirement...it's too late... but some feeling of disgust is still there... it bothers me that i've not distanced it... why is the past's downside disgust... to lose that...it's worth trading in it's opposite... the good feelings of past delights... for the peace of the inner eye...

Like this very much...can relate. It is hard to really let go of the past, all we can do is try.

Sand, wonderful writing, oh that monster from the past that whispers and haunts our present day, and no matter what we do comes creeping back, wish I knew how to banish the monster forever but for some reason the good and happy memories are intertwined with the bad ones, well done !

thanks 'dear' (cofumph : ) ...that's a good point to make ...memories so intertwined that one must distance themself (3rd eye view) to know the knot

And what remains, then, of that disgusted guest still lurking within the great and lasting silence? What you can barely tolerate of disappointed memory. Healing opportunities risk breaking such toxic silence to learn where past judgments may realign forgiveness over tolerance, with no relationship to lose in future's time.

perhaps the writing reflected the momentary crux of a balance between past and present as angst...but : ) a common sense third eye understanding of 'context- content' is/means forgiveness is of 'understanding'
