Let It Go
had a memory today...
of an old high school acquaintance...
happened to see him years later...
to me...he was dead...
but...so was i...
to see him that way...though...
it was obvious he struggled to stay alive...
he'd even thrown his own kin under the bus...
hate doesn't occupy me...
this is retirement...it's too late...
but some feeling of disgust is still there...
it bothers me that i've not distanced it...
why is the past's downside disgust...
to lose that...it's worth trading in it's opposite...
the good feelings of past delights...
for the peace of the inner eye...
