You have a real talent for limerick writing. I am studying your work to better learn how to do this form. But so far it seems harder for me as I can’t add the wit! Hmmm I guess I will just read yours Duke lol.

Karen...it doesn't always work out but I try to create some kind of weird unexpected content in the last line. If possible, I add internal rhymes. I try to keep lines 1, 2, and 5 to 8 or 9 syllables and lines 3 and 4 to 5 or 6. That's about it....I just try to express some simple idea. It takes time...but I like the compactness of it all and creating a short message.

Tom, yes I am taking one necessary for continued life. In the back of my mind I worry about what would happen if the drug were to become scarce for some reason. The feeling of sadness occurred when first told I needed to take this. I do worry about the conditions where these drugs originate. A lot are internationally sourced and the conditions may lead to poor quality. We have very little control over this as individuals and rely on FDA etal.

Very thoughtful on your part to highlight the supply problem--sad when people suffer due to lack of medicine. A fine limerick, Duke, that reaches deep.

Thanks Vijay. It does create a concern for all of us who rely on prescription drugs to treat our medical conditions. We've come to rely on these medicines and would not like to be without them. Some of them are a matter of life and death.

Kim, yes...very sad and an indication of something very wrong developing. I hope I'm wrong about that and wishing that we have effective drugs that are pure, safe, and available. Without that, we are like animals being experimented on.

Thanks SP. You are being very kind to me! For those of us who rely on prescription medicines, it raises a red flag. This one example has created problems for a lot of people who struggle with this disorder, but it's only one example of a shortage. You are on target pointing out that there are a lot of external influences on life that we should consider.

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD... but I self coach myself and will never take any medication... but i do wonder why such conditions are so prevalent today, which includes autism also...

SO, thank-you very much for sharing that information. I think in time, we'll better understand the causes of many of these conditions. I am also glad that you can self-regulate. That is a sign of emotional maturity and metacognition with which you are blessed (or worked hard to develop)! I think I have a touch of OCD, and it makes the people who know me a bit crazy. We're in this world to help each other.

Lin, it's actually a real problem for people who need the medicine. I'm making light of it, but we can't figure out what the problem is in the supply chain. You are very kind!!
