For Constance La France Poetry Contest: Funny new year resolutions for 2024

“Every year is a chess game. New Year is a new chess game! You make the right moves, you win the game!” Mehmet Murat ildan
Questions of resolutions for new years day. It's a comedic quest that's all I can I say. No more gym promises, let 'love handles' slide, I'll do squats with laughter - it's smiles certified! I'll attempt to embrace my inner chef cuisine, but I'll probably get too lazy to cut green beans! Microwaves, dear Constance, shall take the lead, cooking gourmet food in minutes, that's all I need! I don't care for mumbo jumbo mindfulness. I'll try to be calm and stay away from stress. I'm quite content with my life being a mess. through poetry I will continue to express. Maybe I'll spend less time online or on my phone, but then my 'Boo' will be grumpy and start to moan; asking "Why no poetry or posting on soup, have I joined another community group?" Soupers must be tired from my melancholic words, so I'll try to make them laugh like royal lords. I'll post limericks humorous and brash, maybe I'll get published and make lots of cash! I'm poor and no money brings so much woe, but I pledge to spend on a cheap comedy show. Laughter, they say is the best form of currency, it's free and will save you from needing therapy. Fitness goals? Come on let's keep it real, my resolution's laughter, a daily ordeal. Belly laughs and chuckles, my abs will be toned, who needs a treadmill when jokes are treasures, owned. Oh Constance La France my dear poetic friend, on new year resolutions one cannot depend. We all know they end up in disaster,  so I'm gonna stick to the strength of laughter! For in the land of goals, funny and bright, may your New Year beliefs bring you delight!

"Soupers must be tired from my melancholic words, so I'll try to make them laugh like royal lords. I'll post limericks humorous and brash, maybe I'll get published and make lots of cash!" With this wonderfully humorous writing you have proved that you can excel in hilarity and your comic side is equally powerful as your melancholic side. This is the funniest resolutions I have so far read. Definitely this will be placed as the top. On this Christmas day, as my house is full I satisfy myself by writing a short comment. Merry Christmas dear Silent one,

The strength of laughter is the way to go, SO. "Belly laughs and chuckles, my abs will be toned, who needs a treadmill when jokes are treasures, owned" best line ever! I really laughed out loud, such a joy to read. Humor suits you! Clever, Constance will love it;)~Anaya

I got a kick out of your lighted hearted words and wit. I'm not one for new year's resolutions...I always ask why we don't 'pursue them' regularly...seems like new year's eve resolutions are much ado about nothing....best wishes with the contest. Happy New year! (too soon?) :-)

Oh, I'm the dramatic one, eh!<--a Canuck LaFrance/Pinet/Lamoureux..eh!) You had me in and over a barrel, my friend. My love for hiding paradoxes & the archaic lingo as the high school movie critic reviews o'er the school's PA system, balanced with my dad's sarcastic outlook on life--moi voila. Well, I'm finally leaving as doctor's kept their promise of being out before the holidays--literally. 90% functionality with ongoing home care. Mele Kalikimaka a Hau'oli Maka Hiki Hou 2024. Hahah, oh gosh, this made me laugh on this gloomy day! Such a bundle of joy this beautiful poem is,I agree, laughter is the best therapy and who needs resolutions when strength of positivity and jolly ignites a unique fire of motivation within us! It feels so good to read such refreshing and different poems from you."I'll attempt to embrace my inner chef cuisine, but I'll probably get too lazy to cut green beans!"That stanza is a very creative one, I mean this whole poem is an atmosphere in itself

Wow!!! Im literally smiling silent one! Hah! This is fun and so uplifting and so well written and resonates so well with me too on so many levels, especially gym part. But i promise ill gym more and be less metaphorically hazy. Hah. I love how you’ve used the name of the judge too, she definitely deserves that as she has been working so hard. Its cute the boo part about being grumpy. And i also love the way you’ve rhymes and how lyrical this sounds, now im inspired to try this although this is

I feel like theres a better synonym for that word for those unfortunate or those in poverty, poor i feel doesnt define their soul. Its a label i dont like personally. Ofcourse i know there are many struggling financially and more but i was expressing how i dont like that word

There are no poor people? People struggling all over the world.. refugees and people stuck in war with no food or shelter and billions living in poverty not knowing where their next meal is coming from... thanks for your feedback.

Not my genre really, your poems are inspiring and truly are muse for me! How clever is this line “ I'll attempt to embrace my inner chef cuisine,“ wow that line will stay in my mind for a while! “ I'm poor and no money brings so much woe, but I pledge to spend on a cheap comedy show.“ o personally dont like this word “ poor” theres no poor person really, poor are the ones with no moral ethics and you definitely are not poor: i bet that was fictional. But very well written “ Belly laughs and chuckles, my abs will be toned, who needs a treadmill when jokes are treasures, owned.” Aahh now i need to laugh more no more treadmills! Deal! Thank you for this soul warming poem’ Made my day! Love such poems! Best wishes for the contest. Fave this is
