Know the Soul

A soul is divine it is said, by spiritualists, well read, but what soul is, most have not seen, who are by scriptures blindly led. Detached hermits, whose needs are lean, in staid stillness have felt soul’s sheen, which we too can know, if we choose, erst fears and desires, from heart wean. With agape love as our heart’s muse, following truth without excuse, we then see soul, as light of God, whence mind games no longer amuse. Made in God’s image, soul’s a pod, blooming when we give love our nod, shining within, as living light; revelation that leaves us awed. Bliss drenched soul pulsates with delight, humming gently by day and night, as God’s essence, alive, aglow, known when awakens inner sight. Thus truth of soul, if we would know, we must make first, our thought flow slow, whereupon we see soul’s divine; whence God guides us and we follow.

Soul is living light, it is God's spark within. We cannot see it, but can feel it. When love fills hearts, soul gets drenched in bliss. Your ruminations on the soul are always enlightening. Congratulations Seeker friend on your POTD

In fact, Valsa, we can see the light of Self. It happens suddenly (by grace) when silence becomes our default orientation, whereupon identity drops away. Bliss relates to mind-body, which transitions to peace in the ‘realm’ of light of Self

Did get around to reading your poem until today (day after POTD). Hubby Bill Baker read it to me....I was entranced from the first stanza. I've known many 'religious' types who didn't have a clue about their soul. Many were detached from God, almost clueless. The 4th stanza about the soul being a pod really struck a chord with me. I've known many seekers and soulful folks who radiated light and love; I was drawn to them. I hope to be that kind of human, Congrats of POTD, Sara Etgen-Baker

Thank you, Sara. The truth is simple but difficult to accept for ego (identity, lower mind). We are not this limited and transient form. What we are, is soul or living light in singularity having in body, experience of duality. It does not matter if we know or don’t, the truth is, as it is. When thoughts rest, identity recedes. Silence enables us to see our true being in conscious mind, the waking state.

"We can know, if we choose." There's so much truth in that statement. It's easy to see a soul that is seeking the light, or those that are already following the light. We are not the doer. As at this time, it suffices we grow in love, gentling thought, word and action, in gentle mindfulness. If God wishes to use us as a conduit for His energy to assist anyone, He will enable us, guide us suitably.

I’m far from enlightened, David :) however, I can say this: it does not matter whether or not we have seen Soul/ Self bcoz the light that is, always is, which we are, whether or not we have cognised in conscious mind. It does help to centre us however, since we know who in truth we are.
