The sun is blazing and fierce in August, made more potent by your dad's burial. Our memories do that to the seasons. I buried mine in winter and find winter depressing. Lucky for us, you became a poet. :) Congratulations on win!

I, too, feel like a withered flower when trying to beat the heat on these scorching days of August. But, this is still a happy time for me, because many of my family members are August babies...
